Acrylic paints

Acrylic paints are a favorite among artists, both beginning and professional. Acrylic paints are very versatile – they can be used on a multitude of prepared surfaces, including canvas, paper, boards, and panels. Many people, especially beginning artists, prefer acrylic paints to oil paints. This is greatly because many people think that blending acrylic paints is easier – acrylics use a wet on dry technique while oils use wet on wet or wet on dry technique. And acrylics dry more quickly. Acrylics are also easier to clean up, and kids can use them easily.

Another difference between acrylic paints and oils is that acrylics dry through evaporation and become more transparent. Therefore, acrylics sometimes need to be layered if you want great intensity of colors. The type of paint that use, whether you prefer acrylic paints or oils, depends greatly on your own, personal technique and desired effect.
